- Relationship Dynamics
- Building Resilience
We offer 12 week residential assessments for joint couple and single parents. Our assessments are designed to focus on the early identification and management of risks; meeting the developmental milestones/needs of children/babies; assessing family/relationship dynamics; developing parenting capacity; exploring environmental factors; support networks; building resilience and timely interventions. All assessments are completed by qualified social workers and qualified Family Assessment Workers.
Viability Assessments
We also offer viability assessments on paper prior to assess suitability prior to admission as well residential viability assessments for 4-6 weeks. The purpose of the viability assessment is to assess the level of risk and to inform the placement planning and assessment plan for the family/individual.
PAMS Assessments
At the Orchards we have staff who are trained in PAMS (Parent Assessment Manual) who are able to assess parents with learning difficulties/needs. These assessments are carried out using the PAMS software. There are specific domains and within the domains there are skills which are assessed to determine parental knowledge, quality of parenting and frequency of parenting practice. At the end of the assessment there is a clear visual profile of parenting capacity and the areas of support and teaching
